So, Artemis has this petition written up calling for disciplinary action to be brought against Freya. Not for her to be kicked out of STARS, but for stern disciplinary action. He's shown it to Kass and Dannel thus far, and Kass suggested that, in addition to his own signature, Artemis try to find other Jedi in the temple to sign the petition. My question is, basically, would Artemis know of any Jedi whom he could approach with this and at least have a reasonable chance of convincing them? Here's the petition for reference:
To Whom It May Concern:
We the undersigned are filing a formal complaint calling for disciplinary action against Freya Odanadi. Freya willfully placed Tryce (and the rest of the STARS Alpha group) at risk when she wielded a Sith artifact that she'd checked out from the archives against him. She gave him no warning save to say "defend yourself" before immediately attacking.
Freya's argument is that we must learn what these Sith artifacts do, as we currently know little to nothing about them or their effects. Freya believes that she has done nothing wrong and that her actions were necessary. She believes that she was in control the entire time (which she was not), and that if she'd wanted to kill us, she could easily have done so. Since none of us were severely injured, she believes that all is well.
We know little to nothing about these Sith artifacts. This statement negates Freya's defensive claim that she was in control the entire time. She had no way of knowing what the sword would do. For all she knew, it could have erupted with a barrage of Force Lightning and struck down everyone within a ten foot radius. It didn't, but the point is that she did not know. Therefore she cannot possibly have known for certain that she would be in control of every event that happened as a result of her wielding the sword against Tryce.
This leads directly to Freya's claim of if she'd wanted to kill us, she could easily have done so. Freya was not in control the entire time. Four people were, in various ways, attempting to subdue Freya or snap her out of her battle frenzy. The only reason that no one was hurt is that she managed to break whatever hold the sword had placed on her. Whether she was in fact in control the entire time or not, however, is not the point. The point is that there was no one present who would have been able to stop her had her will been completely lost to the artifact. Because we know nothing about these artifacts, it cannot be said that there was no chance she would have lost her will. The appropriate thing to have done would have been, at the very least, to have a Jedi Master or two accompany her to oversee the test. Rather than take such a simple precaution, Freya let her arrogance and self-confidence blind her and as a result she placed her teammates at risk.
We believe that the change in policy regarding the checking out of Sith artifacts is a step in the right direction, but not enough. Currently we will only be forewarned against another attack. This does not change Freya's alarming behavioral patterns.
Freya still believes that she has done nothing wrong and that her actions were necessary. She believes that the ends justified the means. She is continuing to let her arrogance rule her actions. Therefore, she continues to be a danger to STARS Alpha and we find that we cannot trust her as she is. We are calling for immediate disciplinary action to remedy Freya's mentality and behavior.
